The first night tested that resilience early: wet, wild weather made for a tough night under canvas. Students took it in their stride, staying positive and looking out for one another rather than letting the conditions get the better of them. They also cooked their own meals throughout the camp, one more small step toward the independence this program is built around.
The Year 9 cohort should be proud of how they showed up for each other. They were willing to have a go, quick to encourage a mate, and determined when things got hard. That is exactly the spirit we hope to see in John XXIII College students.
