Visual Arts

Students explore and refine their creative voice across a range of media through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative projects.

CURRICULUM AND CREATIVITY

Visual Arts is offered across all year groups, encouraging students to explore a wide range of art forms – from painting, drawing and printmaking to ceramics and sculpture.

Media Studies enables students to experiment with digital visual effects, cinematography and editing, creating original work in film, television and social media formats.

EXHIBITIONS AND RECOGNITION

Students display their work at our annual Visual Arts Exhibition, as well as at external exhibitions including the Angelico Exhibition, The Lester Prize Youth Awards, and The West Australian Pulse at the Art Gallery of Western Australia. These events celebrate student achievement and provide a meaningful platform for young artists to gain recognition and develop their practice.

At John XXIII College, the arts offer students a powerful means of self-expression, connection and contribution to their community and to the wider world.

At John XXIII College, creativity is a canvas for self-discovery, connection and meaningful contribution.
