MAGIS:
STRIVING FOR MORE

An Ignatian-inspired program that challenges students through academic competition, creative endeavour, and leadership.

MAGIS

GIFTED AND TALENTED PROGRAM

Magis is the Latin word for 'more' – a core principle of Ignatian education. The Magis program embodies this spirit: a commitment to excellence across intellectual, creative, and personal dimensions, and to placing those gifts in service of others.

OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPERIENCES

Magis opens doors to rigorous, enriching experiences that stretch minds and shape character. From interschool competitions to international events, students build critical thinking, creative expression, and collaboration and teamwork.

Experiences include:

  • participation in interschool competitions, including Western Australian Debating League, da Vinci Decathlon, Creative Edge, Tournament of Minds, Ethics Olympiad, and the World Scholar's Cup
  • involvement in public speaking, creative writing, chess, and academic House challenge programs
  • academic seminars with guest speakers, offering connection to broader ideas
  • a sustained focus on rigorous thinking, ethical reasoning, and the habits of observation and inquiry that support lifelong learning
