TEACHING FOR IMPACT

Our educators are committed to nurturing both the minds and hearts of our students, fostering academic excellence, personal growth and a strong commitment to justice.

PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND EXCELLENCE

Our staff engage in ongoing professional development through the College's Professional Growth Model, aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (AITSL).

Through a coaching approach, this model supports teachers in their own action research to measure their impact on student engagement and growth.

Evidence-based, innovative teaching practices inspire curiosity, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

SUPPORTING TEACHERS AT ALL STAGES OF THEIR CAREER

Our commitment is to inspire, develop, and empower staff to teach, innovate, and lead with impact. We provide educators with pathways to demonstrate leadership, share expertise, and contribute to a strong professional learning community.

Early career Teachers

Early career teachers engage in a comprehensive induction program that provides mentoring and targeted professional learning based on High Impact Teaching strategies. Under the guidance of experienced staff, early career teachers are supported through their transition from provisional to full registration, building confidence, capability and a strong foundation for a rewarding teaching career.

Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT)

We actively support teachers working towards Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) accreditation. Committed and experienced teachers engage in HALT accreditation to master their practice and lead colleagues in nationally recognised teaching standards.

Leadership Development

All middle and senior leaders engage in professional learning and reflective practice to enhance their leadership capabilities. Heads of Learning Area are trained as instructional coaches to support teaching staff engage in goal-setting and action research modelled on Jim Knight’s The Impact Cycle. A regular cycle of leadership reflection, based on peer and staff feedback, helps leaders strengthen their leadership approach.

STAFF SCHOLARSHIP

As a supplement to the College’s professional development program, the Staff Scholarship supports and encourages staff to pursue professional learning and inquiry that deepens practice, explores important educational issues or develop skills that will have a positive impact on teaching, learning and community life.

CEWA ACCREDITATION AND CATHOLIC IDENTITY

All teaching staff work towards and maintain CEWA accreditation, ensuring a strong commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education. Programs such as Faith, Story and Witness are integral to our professional journey, supporting spiritual growth and a shared understanding of our mission as a Catholic College.
