A transformative journey that brings faith to life through cultural immersion and reflection.
For participants, the pilgrimage transcends typical travel. It becomes an opportunity to learn from and serve remote communities, building empathy and understanding across cultural boundaries – challenging assumptions while developing the capacity for thoughtful listening and compassionate response.
Our College's dedication to reconciliation runs throughout this program. Through engagement with Australia's Traditional Owners, students gain insights into the world's oldest continuous civilisation, fostering greater understanding of the truth-telling process that underpins authentic reconciliation efforts.
Recent pilgrimages have taken students to places such as Cape York, where they have been welcomed by Traditional Owners and encountered some of the oldest living cultures. Through listening to local stories, participating in traditional craft workshops, walking on Country, and sharing meals with community members, students grow in empathy, respect, and genuine appreciation for Australia’s rich cultural heritage.
Students experience life on Country firsthand, expanding their cultural knowledge while reflecting on their own lives and developing a deeper sense of stewardship – a collective responsibility to share knowledge and protect land, people, and cultures.
Guided by dedicated staff, participants undergo extensive preparation before travelling to remote communities. Every element of the pilgrimage is shaped by the College's motto, Seek Justice, ensuring the experience is purposeful, respectful, and meaningful.
