The 2026 Sr Mary Murray Interhouse Swimming Carnival was a brilliant showcase of competition, camaraderie and College pride. Held at the Perth High Performance Centre, the event brought together students from all year levels, delivering some of the most competitive racing the College has seen.

House Championship: Loyola House victorious

Loyola House claimed the 2026 House Championship in a fiercely contested day, with just 55 points separating first and second place. Every member of Loyola contributed, from those racing in the pool to the supporters in the stands, demonstrating the power of teamwork and collective effort. Their victory was a testament to determination and unity, and their House Captains led with distinction throughout the day.

Spirit Award: St Louis House

The Spirit Award was proudly awarded to St Louis House, whose chants and enthusiasm filled the stadium and lifted everyone's spirits. Their vibrant presence and encouragement for all competitors embodied the true meaning of House spirit and inclusivity at John XXIII College.

The final relay races were a highlight, with thunderous support from the stands and a sense of excitement that brought the whole College community together. Year 7 students showed tremendous enthusiasm in their first secondary carnival, while Year 12s led their Houses with pride in their final appearance at the event.

A heartfelt thank you goes to every student who competed and cheered, our dedicated staff, House Coordinators, and the Health and Physical Education team for making the day possible. Special mention to our poolside commentators, whose energy and insights kept the crowd engaged and the atmosphere lively throughout.
