On Thursday, 24 September, our Year 12 leaders and staff will take on the Ice Plunge Challenge on the Chapel Lawn, braving bone-chilling ice water to raise funds for Jesuit Mission's work in Hazaribagh, India.
Every $250 raised sends another staff-and-student pair into the ice. Reach $7,500 and a surprise plunger joins in. Hit $10,000, and Principal Mr Mahon takes the drop himself. Our goal this year is $15,000.
Funds raised will support Jesuit Mission's efforts to bring education and opportunity to children in Hazaribagh, where classrooms, teachers and basic resources are in short supply. As a guide, $20 provides a month of learning materials for 100 students, $100 covers a full year of schooling for one child, and $225 funds a teacher's wage for a month.
