APPLICATION PROCESS

How do I apply for a position at the College?

All current vacancies are listed on our website and through relevant job boards. To apply, simply follow the instructions outlined in the position advertisement. For relief opportunities, you can submit an expression of interest through our website at any time.

Do I need to submit a cover letter and resume?

Yes, most positions require both a cover letter addressing the selection criteria and a current resume. Specific requirements will be outlined in each job advertisement.

How will I know if my application has been received?

You will receive an acknowledgement via email confirming that your application has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation within two business days, please contact our Employment team.

How long does the recruitment process take?

Timelines can vary depending on the nature of the role and we aim to keep applicants informed throughout the process.

Do I need to be Catholic to work at the College?

We welcome applications from all individuals who demonstrate a genuine respect for and commitment to upholding our Catholic ethos and values.

What does it mean to support the Catholic ethos?

Supporting our Catholic ethos means embracing the Gospel values of respect, compassion, community, and service that underpin everything we do. All staff are expected to contribute to the spiritual and cultural life of the College community.

Will I be required to attend religious events or ceremonies?

Staff are expected to participate in College masses, liturgies, and other faith-based events as part of their role.

Do I require CEWA Accreditation to teach Religious Education to work at the College?

Teachers of Religious Education in Primary and Secondary are required to work towards completing this accreditation and are supported to do so.

Child Safety & Compliance

SUITABILITY AND SCREENING

What checks are required before I can start?

All successful applicants are required to hold a current Working with Children Check (or equivalent) and a National Police Clearance before commencing employment. These must be current and satisfactory prior to your start date.

How recent does my National Police Clearance need to be?

We require a National Police Clearance issued within the last three months.

Are there any mandatory training requirements?

All new staff are required to complete mandatory training prior to or shortly after commencing. This includes child safety and protection training, and may include other modules depending on their role.

Professional Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATION

What qualifications do I need to work as a teacher?

All teaching staff must hold current registration with the Teachers’ Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) and possess appropriate qualifications. Registration should be current before applying.

Do Education Assistants need formal qualifications?

A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support is highly desirable for Education Assistant roles. However, relevant experience working with children or young people may also be considered.

What award or agreement covers employees?

Employees are engaged under the relevant Catholic Education enterprise agreement for Western Australia, which guides salary schedules, conditions, leave entitlements, and other employment terms.

What professional development opportunities are available?

We are committed to the ongoing growth of our staff and offer a range of professional learning opportunities throughout the year, including internal programs and external training.

Is there an induction program for new staff?

All new staff participate in a structured induction program designed to help them transition successfully into the College community.

Flexible Opportunities

RELIEF AND CASUAL WORK

How does the relief pool work?

Once expressions of interest and all required documentation have been reviewed and approved, applicants will be added to our relief pool and will be contacted by our administration team when relief work becomes available.

How much notice will I receive for relief shifts?

Relief work is often required at short notice due to unplanned absences. Where possible, we will contact relief staff the afternoon prior; however, same-morning contact is common. We appreciate flexibility from our relief staff.

Can relief work lead to ongoing employment?

Relief work is a great way to become known within our community. While there is no guarantee, many of our ongoing staff members began their journey with us in a relief capacity.
