About Our K-12 Library

At John XXIII College, we believe that a vibrant, well-resourced library is essential to student learning and development. Our library is not just a place for books—it is a dynamic learning environment where students can engage with a wide variety of resources, enhance their critical thinking, and develop a love for reading and research. Whether students are looking for a quiet space to study, a book to read for pleasure, or help with a school project, our library is here to support them.

Primary Library

We are proud to have a Specialist Primary Library Teacher, Ms Sasha Cattapan, who has a deep passion for literature and a genuine love of books. Ms Cattapan is dedicated to inspiring students in the joy of reading and introducing students to a wide range of literature.

Primary students can visit the library during lunch time where they can read or complete different activities throughout the week.

Secondary Library

The library is open during the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am-6:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am-3:30pm

Students can visit during lunch, before school, or after school. The library is closed at recess.

Available Resources

Our library offers a wide range of resources to support learning needs, including:

  • Books: Fiction, Non-fiction, Graphic Novels, Picture Books, and more.
  • E-books & Audiobooks: Available for borrowing through SORA.
  • Online Databases: Access academic resources like journal articles, encyclopedias, and more to assist with research projects.
  • WACE Study Guides & Reference Materials: Find textbooks, study materials, and research help for all subjects.
  • Technology: Printers, photocopiers, charging stations are available for use during library hours.

Homework Club

  • When: Mondays to Thursdays from 3:30pm-6:00pm
  • Where: Ignatius Centre Library
  • Who: Students in Years 7-12

Our Homework Club is a relaxed, supportive environment where students can get help with their homework, access resources, or simply study with peers. Our staff and alumni tutors are available to assist with a variety of subjects, offering guidance and encouragement to ensure your success.
