We strongly encourage families to submit applications for their children as early as possible. Our main intake years are Kindergarten and Year 7. Interviews for Kindergarten will take place 2 years before commencement (when the child is 2 years old). Interviews for Year 7 will take place 3 years before commencement (when the child is in Year 4).

If you have applied for one of our intake years, we will contact you via email prior to the start of the offer process. Selected families will be invited to the College for an interview. Families who have been unsuccessful at securing an interview will be offered a place on our waitlist and will be contacted should a place become available.

Intake for all other years

Applications are welcome for all years, from Kindergarten to Year 12. If a vacancy occurs, applicants will be contacted for an interview. For information on our current cohort availability, please use the Online Enrolment Enquiry Form or email enrolments@johnxxiii.edu.au.

→ Qualities that could identify the strength of applications

To assist the Principal in the enrolment process, the College Council has identified qualities that could identify the strength of the application:

  • Children of families who are involved in the broad mission of the Catholic Church.
  • Children of families who have demonstrated commitment to John XXIII College. This might be demonstrated by already having a child currently enrolled or previously enrolled, by being a past student of John XXIII College, St Louis or Loreto Claremont, or by being a member of the College staff.
  • Children of families who have supported the values of Catholic Education at a previous school. A preferential relationship exists between John XXIII College and Holy Spirit, City Beach; St Thomas, Claremont and St John's, Scarborough.
  • Children of families who value the co-educational nature of John XXIII College as a unique community in which to enrol all their children through to completion of their studies.

Other notes

  • Due regard will be paid to the date of application.
  • The College may take into account gender balance when considering applications for enrolment.
  • Children from diverse backgrounds will be actively considered insofar as the College is able to adequately meet each student's needs.
  • Enrolment is subject to an interview and a satisfactory reference from a person able to validate the congruence of the College's mission with the applicant's family.
