Established in 1992, the John XXIII College Rowing Club has developed many students into strong minded, resilient and committed individuals, with many going on to compete in State, National and International competitions. With an inclusive philosophy, the rowers of all levels are catered for, with comprehensive training and instruction provided by qualified coaches.

·         a real sense of teamwork
·         an understanding of commitment and dedication
·         their true character and resilience
·         fitness and strength
·         a true sense of accomplishment

Training

Year 7 - All Year 7 students will have an opportunity to experience Rowing in their Physical Education classes. Rowing will take place for 6 weeks, during students Physical Education classes. This will allow all students to develop their understanding of Rowing, water safety and physical attributes required for the Sport in singles, quads and doubles.

Year 8 - All students in Year 8 will be provided an opportunity to continue their skills and knowledge in Rowing in Term 3 of their schooling at John XXIII College. Students will elect to enrol in a Term 3 program. This program will run on Monday and Wednesday afternoons 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm. This program aims to improve all rowers with the ability to row effectively as a crew. Students will take part in a House Regatta at the end of Term 3.

Years 9-12 - Official training for both girls and boys will recommence in Term 4. This enables all rowers to best prepare for the following season.
