International Exchange Programs
The Languages Learning Area provides a variety of academic and experiential opportunities for our students to engage with students from abroad through the dedication, energy, enthusiasm and expertise of our talented team of teachers, exchange co-coordinators and study tour leaders.
All students who study a Language in Years 10 or 11 will be given an opportunity to host students through our International Exchange with Italy or Japan. In addition the College offers a biennial Study Tour to Italy and Study Tour to Japan.
These international study tours enable our students to:
- Immerse themselves in the country and experience life as a teenager with a host family, attending school and travelling to develop their language skills
- Inform their own beliefs and values
- Improve their employability and give them the edge in an international market
- Meet a diverse range of people and make life-long friends
- Develop confidence, become more independent and self-reliant
- Understand another culture, become culturally sensitive and diplomatic
- Observe their own country, culture and language from a different perspective
- Develop a global mind-set and greater preparedness to engage with others.
