Year 7 French

Overview

Year 7 students of French are involved in a range of activities, with the emphasis being on the development of oral competence within an interactive and engaging environment. They will learn about the French culture within the context of looking at similarities and differences in everyday situations in their own country and France.

  • Greetings and introductions
  • Classroom instructions
  • Numbers, ages, colours
  • Months of the year, birthdays
  • Describing self, family and pets
  • Expressing likes, dislikes and preferences.

Assessments

The students' achievement is reviewed by completing regular assessment and testing. These assessments are undertaken in a number of ways via collection and marking of students' work as well as in class assessments at the end of each topic.

Reporting

A Excellent: The student demonstrates achievement that has greatly exceeded the expected standard. Their achievement is well beyond what is expected at this year level.

B Good: The student demonstrates achievement that exceeds the expected standard.

C Satisfactory: The student demonstrates achievement at the expected standard. The student is able to progress to the next level of learning.

D Limited: The student demonstrates achievement below the expected standard. The student demonstrates a quality of learning that is adequate for progression but will still need additional support or assistance to progress.

E Very Low: The student demonstrates achievement below the minimum acceptable for this year level.
