Year 7 Home Room Teacher Full Time Temporary (until end of 2015 school year)

John XXIII College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 7 Home Room Teacher.

The requirements of a Home Room teacher will be to teach their class in a range of subjects including Religious Education, English, Humanities and Social Sciences and Life Skills. The Home Room teacher will also be the key pastoral care provider for the students in their class. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, an energetic and collaborative approach with a depth of knowledge of current educational theories and practices. Competence with technology and ICT and experience at using computer applications to enhance teaching and learning are strongly desirable. Excellent teaching and classroom management skills are essential, along with a desire to assist students to achieve their full potential. The applicant must actively support and promote the Ethos of the Catholic school and all teachers are required to have, or be prepared to obtain, necessary accreditation through the Catholic Education Office as well as registration with TRBWA. A current Working With Children card/application must be submitted at the time of application.

Selection Criteria

  • The ability to teach Religious Education
  • Current Registration with the Teachers Registration Board of WA (essential)
  • Current Working With Children clearance and Police Check (essential)
  • Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (favourable)
