Special Needs Teacher - Primary

The Mary Ward Centre at John XXIII College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Primary Teacher

This is a full time temporary position to cover a staff member on Maternity Leave from 8th September, 2014 until the end of Term 3, 2015.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, an energetic and collaborative approach with a depth of knowledge in teaching children with special needs. A desire to assist students achieve their full potential. Special education qualifications and experience are essential.

This position requires the staff member to

  • possess an extensive knowledge of special education pedagogy
  • have experience in developing individual education plans
  • excellent teaching and management skills
  • to be positive and passionate about special education
  • to work collaboratively in a team of dedicated professionals.

The applicants must actively support and promote the ethos of the Catholic school and all teachers are required to have, or be prepared to obtain, necessary Accreditation through the Catholic Education Office as well as registration with TRBWA. A current Working With Children card/application must be submitted at the time of application.
