At this time of year in every school, there are some staff members that for a variety of reasons, we need to farewell and thank. This is always hard, as it is never easy to say goodbye to people we work side by side with and have a high regard for. This year we say good bye to:

  • Miss Adriana Coniglio
  • Mrs Brenda Meredith
  • Miss Michelle Cipriani
  • Miss Bronwyn Brady
  • Miss Mia O'Sullivan

We congratulate Adriana Coniglio on her appointment as Assistant Principal at Aranmore Catholic Primary School. Her considerable professional expertise and genuine care of students and families over many years working here at John XXIII will certainly be missed. We wish Adriana every success and happiness for the future and know that her genuine desire to be of service to others will make her a wonderful leader at her new school.

Brenda Meredith has worked tirelessly for the good of the children in her care in Mary Ward for the past 17 years. Her happy, friendly, professional and positive personality has been greatly valued by the College community. We thank Brenda most sincerely for all you she has shared with us and wish you her all the very best in her retirement.

Michelle Cipriani has only just been at John XXIII for a term, we thank Michelle for all she has brought to her Year Three class and wish her well as she begins her exciting travels abroad.

Bronwyn Brady has worked hard as Education Assistant in Pre Primary and has decided to pursue future studies in Education. We congratulate Bronwyn on her forthcoming marriage and wish her all the very best for the future.

Finally, we thank Mia O'Sullivan for all you she has given to our school in her role as a Special Needs Assistant. Her dedication, enthusiasm and generosity with children has been greatly valued. We wish Mia well with her future adventures and study.

Thanks to all of you who were able to make it to the Pre Primary Assembly today - it was great to see so many parents and grandparents enjoying the fantastic Christmas assembly item presented by the youngest children in the College. A huge thank you to the Pre Primary team for your dedication and commitment to ensure the final assembly of the year was such a success. It was delightful to see the children sing, dance and recite their lines with such enthusiasm and confidence.

A good school is the sum total of ALL our efforts, conversations, team work, respectful and positive interactions and each person can 'value add' in small and simple ways.

A special thank you to those of you have:

  • Performed random acts of kindness (cooked meals for Roncalli Care, made a special cake for staff etc)
  • Volunteered around the College
  • Attended meetings, assemblies, Masses, excursions, carnivals, Performing Arts etc
  • Sent in thank you cards or emails with affirming messages
  • Cooperated in the car park and stayed patient and calm
  • Smiled as you have passed by other parents, staff and children
  • Modelled respectful talk and respectful choices to your children
  • Refrained from gossip and from talking about adult issues in front of your children
  • Prayed with your kids and put your faith into daily action

And lots more!

Thanks again for your ongoing support, thoughtfulness and little messages of encouragement and thanks - they are very much appreciated and sustain the staff through the late nights and early morning starts in the final weeks of this very busy term!

Class lists will be available next week. It is important that parents have faith and trust in all our teachers and understand that each teacher will do their very best to help your child achieve their full potential. It is important to note that these class lists are final and no changes will be considered.

Please try to take note of all the important dates in this newsletter and the opportunities being offered between now and the end of term. If you can attend the End of Year Mass on Friday 7th December at 9am, it would be great to see you there...a time for your child to see you at something that lies at the heart of what we are really about in a Catholic school - even more than concerts and excursions, parties and other! This Mass is kindly being prepared by Miss Nish and Year 4G and will also be Fr Gaetan's final whole Primary School Mass at John XXIII.

Kind regards

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
