Sustainability
World earth hour takes place this Saturday March 31st at 8.30.
Hundreds of millions of people, businesses and governments from all around the world unite each year to support the largest environmental event in history - Earth Hour.
This Saturday John XXIII College students, teachers, staff will join millions of others from around the world to take part in Earth Hour. This hour is a symbol of commitment to a sustainable future just simply by turning off your lights for 60minutes.
Please join us in solidarity and turn off your lights for 1 hour from 8.30 - 9.30 Saturday night.
Australia's ecological footprint
Australia has one of the world's largest ecological footprints per capita, requiring 6.6 global hectares per person. If all countries consumed the resources that we Australian's do, it would take the bio capacity of three Earths to support their lifestyle.
Each of us can make some simple changes that will add up to a great deal of relief for our increasingly fragile planet. How many planets does it take to support your lifestyle? Why not find out?

Recycling Reminder -
Our new recycling campaigns are off to a very successful start. Just a reminder to all that the battery recycling bin is located in the main administration building, and our electronics recycling bin is in the Library. Let's get recycling!
If can contribute some sustainable ideas or suggestions for the College please feel free to email me kiernan.linda@johnxxiii.edu.au
