Around the Primary

Dear Parents,

This weekend marks the beginning of Advent and it is a special time when we prepare for the birth of Jesus and can also reach out to help others in our Community. It would be wonderful if each family could provide a food item, such as a tinned ham or a pudding to put into a Christmas hamper. Donations can be left in the classrooms or under the big Christmas tree in the office. Please give generously so others may have a happy Christmas with some delicious treats.

On Tuesday 9th December our Year 6 students will be coming together for Mass at 6.30pm as part of their Graduation celebrations. This will be followed by a light supper provided by the Year 6 parents and kindly served by the Year 5 parents.

Parents and siblings are welcome to come along to this special celebration. Unfortunately due to constraints with space we cannot extend this invitation to other family members. We wish our Year 6 leaders all the very best as they use the following two weeks to reflect on their wonderful primary years at John XXIII Primary School.

It was great to see so many parents at today's assembly. Special thanks to Miss Gormley and Year 3B for all your hard work and sharing your knowledge about caring for our environment.

Congratulations to all the students who received a certificate.

We are also very proud of William Vardanega and Amy Anderson-King who have just completed their altar-serving training. Congratulations to William and Amy!

I'm delighted to announce the following classroom teacher positions for 2015.

It is also time to say goodbye to some valued members of our Staff community:

Miss Jemma Davis Miss Stephanie Figueira Mr Dominic Izzard

We wish them well and thank them for their contributions to the College.

Presentation Evening is almost upon us (Wednesday 3rd December) and this evening is compulsory for students in Years 5 and 6. All students are required to wear their school uniform. All parents are welcome to attend. Tickets can be booked via the College Website or click on this LINK.

Our Junior Primary Swimming Lessons started this week and our young children have been participating with excitement and enthusiasm. At the same time, our Year 3-6 students have been learning many new dance steps and moves with Mr and Mrs Alderman and today proudly show-cased their amazing dancing talents for us. Well done everyone!

Kind Regards,

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
