Around the Primary

Dear Parents

Oh 'what a knight' we had on Tuesday evening. Our talented students delighted a packed audience with their creative, magical and imaginative performance. These fantastic Year Four students are to be commended for their amazing efforts - their animation, confidence in reciting their lines, singing and dancing skills was the result of many weeks of preparation and rehearsal. A huge thank you to Mrs Sasha Cattapan and Mrs Jo Allen for taking on the roles of producers and directors for this amazing production and for their outstanding dedication and commitment to ensure "What a Knight' was such a success. Special thanks for the lovely emails we received - parent feedback is motivating and greatly appreciated.

"Our children loved it and we are all enriched from the experience"

"The most important message is that I am delighted with the amazing opportunity and life-long memories that being part of the musical has given to the children."

"Nothing could prepare us for the conversion of Roncalli Hall into a life-size medieval castle, and the transformation of our Year 4 children into an entire village of colourful characters from the time of Camelot."

"From the grand opening number to the enthusiastic, hearfelt finale, every student had a significant role to play. They were confident, regal, funny, winsome, melancholy, cheeky, elegant, beautiful, athletic, disciplined and scheming. Most of all, they were utterly convincing and looked like they were having the time of their lives."

"Selection of a musical that was appropriate for children's capabilities yet highly entertaining for adults."

Congratulations to the cast and crew of 'What a Knight!' We are incredibly proud of our talented students and staff.

Today the whole Primary school gathered together to enjoy the assembly item prepared by our delightful Pre Primary children. It was fantastic to see the young children on the big stage sharing what they have learnt and discovered through story and song about Indigenous Australians and also farming. A big thank you to all the Pre Primary staff for all their hard work behind the scenes.

Our Primary Open Night is once again upon us and we hope that every family will be able to come along to celebrate some of the wonderful learning opportunities your child has been offered at John XXIII. All classrooms will be open for parents to visit on Monday 19 September from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Your child will be your guide and take you on a mini class tour! Our talented students will also be providing some musical entertainment on the night.
