Around the Primary

Dear Parents

Special thanks to Ms O'Connor and the fantastic fours from 4G for preparing our final Primary Assembly for term four. It was the most entertaining history lesson of all time.

Congratulations to all our Merit Award recipients.

Thank you to all those who attended our Primary Music Concert on Wednesday night. It was a night of celebration as we listened to the various musical ensembles and choirs. Special thanks to all the Music teachers and tutors for all your hard work. The children certainly enjoyed this opportunity to share their musical talents.

On Monday 30 November we will be holding the Primary Transition Sessions. This 'meet and greet' time provides the opportunity for children to familiarise themselves with their new teacher, education assistant and class members before the holidays. Class lists will be distributed later in the week.

We received the news late last week that Mr Andrew Edwards has accepted a teaching position at Aquinas for 2016. Mr Edwards has worked at John XXIII for the last eight years. He has been a dedicated staff member and the students adore being in his class. We wish Andrew all the best at his new school. We have some further staff changes for next year. We bid farewell to Miss Federica Carello and Miss Caroline Gormley. We thank them for their commitment to the children and for their valuable and positive contributions to our School.

Next year we welcome Mrs Sasha Cattapan and Mrs Josephine Ferguson-Allen to our teaching team. They will be teaching a combination of the Arts (music, drama, movement) to our students.

We also welcome back Mrs Emma Distante to John XXIII. Mrs Distante is an experienced educator and is very excited to be joining us again next year.

At the College Presentation Evening next Wednesday 2 December we will celebrate the many and varied achievements of our students. A great deal of work has gone into the night to develop an engaging program. As this is an important community event all students in Years 5 and 6 are expected to attend, as well as, all Primary Singers and Wanju Singers. Tickets can be booked via the College website Everyone is welcome!

Kind Regards

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
