Community Service Learning is an integral part of John XXIII College; you may remember something similar when you were at School. The Faith and Justice Coordinator, Silvana Vicoli is seeking assistance from you. Please have a look at her request below and if able to assist, respond directly to Silvana.

This week we welcomed a group of Alumni to Paul de Pierre's book launch, 'To Learn and To Serve'. This is a comprehensive Military & Service history of Loreto, St Louis & John XXIII Past Students. If you are interested in purchasing a copy for $40.00 p;us $10 post/packing, please contact the Alumni office gingell.anna@johnxxiii.edu.au

Another initiative this week is the Alumni Baby Sitting Club. You may click here to register your interest if looking for a casual baby sitting job or keen to engage Alumni to baby sit your child/children. This is just another way to actively engage with your Alumni.

Silvana's Message to you.

In 2012 John XXIII College has expanded its Service Learning Program which aims to provide meaningful and positive experiences of being men and women for others. We have also included Service Learning in many of our long standing traditions and activities. As you may remember at the end of Year 10 the students spend a week preparing for Year 11 and the challenges they are about to face. This year we have altered Micah Week to include half a day of Service. Therefore on Thursday 6 December 2012, between 9.00-11.30am we are hoping to send our entire Year 10 student body out into the community to help. We hope to provide meaningful and rich experiences for them to appreciate their own gifts and how wonderful it feels to help others. I am inviting our Alumni to host our Year 10s as part of their Micah Week Service Program. Do you volunteer for any charities? Would like some students to come to your work place and help? Do you have a great project that you could suggest to us for our Year 10s? If you have any ideas I would love to hear them. Please be aware that all students are covered under the School's Insurance policy the entire time they are on your property. Please consider the below questions and email me back (email address below)
