Primary Inter House Swimming

The John XXIII College Interschool Swimming Squad represented the College last Tuesday evening at Newman College. Against 6 other schools we received 16 first places out of 56 individual races and another impressive 17 second places from those races. In total we achieved a top three finish in 41 of the 56 races. From the 6 relay races we won the Years 4 and 5, 6 x 50m Freestyle mixed relay races and we were placed second in the other 4 relay races. Also the College would like to thank Amy Buck (Olive and Ella Matthews' mother) for taking training and assisting on the night of the Carnival.

At the Inter-house Swimming Carnival a few weeks ago, Ella Matthews (Loyola) broke the record for the 50m Girls Freestyle. This record was set 10 years ago and the first record that has been broken for a number of years. Congratulations to Ella on her achievement.
