The last couple of weeks have been busy for Magis. Students are well into their NCSS Challenge and they tell me that it is becoming quite difficult. Having attempted to do the Challenge with them at lunch time, I can vouch for the truth of that. Philosophy Club has been meeting on Thursday for the last two weeks. This week we meet on Friday and begin serious work on the Philosothon. We will have a team of four students. This will be the seventh year we have participated.

I am delighted to report that we will be sending a small group of students to the USA Space Camp next year. Eight of our students will joining fourteen from Corpus Christi College for a brilliant experience during the holidays in April 2016. Space Camp encourages students to pursue more science, technology, engineering and mathematics through hands-on educational activities. We expect our students to learn a lot.

As we move into Book Week, students have been involved in some interesting Library activities. Perform Musical presented "Shine A Light" Book Week 2015 tribute to an enthralled audience of Primary students on Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday local author A J Betts shared her passion for writing with Secondary students. She highlighted the importance of a close observation of details in story-telling.
