Around the Primary

Dear Parents

This morning the children from Pre-Primary to Year 3 celebrated Mass together. It was a wonderful opportunity for our young students to be involved in reflecting on the story of St Aloysius Gonzaga and how they might be able to learn from the choices that he made in his life - especially in relation to caring for others.

Congratulations to Mrs Haines and 2G for preparing this lovely liturgy. Thanks to the families who came along - it was lovely to see you there.

Next week the College Leadership Team will be attending the Loreto International Education Conference in Sydney. During my absence from 24th - 26th June, please direct any queries to our Primary Assistant Principals, Mrs Gardner or Ms Kylie Allen. Mr Moylan will also be available if you have any concerns.

On Monday Olivia Purnell and James Hackett from Year 6 represented our College at the 'Science Morning of Excellence' at Holy Rosary Primary School, Doubleview. These students participated in the science workshop with students from various Catholic Schools in the Western Region. Our future scientists provided the following feedback:

'It was awesome because I got to discover fascinating facts and make new friends.' James Hackett

'It was very fun and exciting and a good opportunity to make new friends' Olivia Purnell

Wacky Wednesday was a huge success! The students and staff thoroughly enjoyed wearing weird and wonderful gear to school for the day. Most importantly, the day provided the opportunity for students to learn about how they can reach out and help others in the community and 'seek justice' for others. Due to your generous support we raised $900 for LifeLink.

On a different note, students in Years 5 will be completing the WAMSE tests during the third week of Term 3. These tests measure student performance in Science and Society Environment. Further information about the testing is available from the WAMSE website:

Finally, many Primary students are looking forward to performing in the John XXIII Music Eisteddfod on Monday 24th June. Please remind your child to bring their music and instrument to school. Please refer to the College Website for further details about the Eisteddfod Programme.

Kind Regards

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
