Around the Primary
Dear Parents,
Welcome back everyone! As wonderful as school holidays are, it is always great to be back. We are looking forward to another rewarding and enjoyable term! The staff have certainly had a busy start to the term. They have been finalising teacher's programs for this term, and also organising booklists and class lists for the new school year. The staff are to be sincerely congratulated on all their hard work behind the scenes, particularly during the holidays and for their genuine desire to do the very best for your child. I would like to welcome Miss Chiara Di Biaggio (Pre Primary Teacher), Miss Jemma Davis (Year 1 Teacher), Miss Michelle Cipriani (Year 3 Teacher) and Mrs Stephanie Hamer (Enrichment Teacher) who began working in our school this week. We look forward to their contributions to our College community and we hope that they find their time here rewarding.
On Tuesday 30th October, all Grandparents are invited to the College to share some special time with their grandchildren. They are welcome to visit the classrooms from 12 noon to 12.30 pm and then enjoy a picnic lunch. During this shared lunch, our Primary Instrumentalists and Singers will be providing some lovely entertainment. It is hoped all Grandparents will be able to come along with their picnic baskets and enjoy some fun-filled time with their grandchildren at school.
To ensure a quick and efficient flow of traffic through the 'loop', families with Junior Primary children are requested to display 'drive thru surname cards' (to be sent home today) on their sun-visors or on the dashboard of their vehicle. If you did not receive a surname card or require an extra surname card for a second vehicle, please email Cath Philpot on philpot.catherine@johnxxiii.edu.au
Our Kindy Nature Playground was made available to the Kindy children this week. They have had a wonderful time exploring all the new play areas. It was like Christmas Day! It has been great to see the children's happy faces as they explore this new magical play space and to hear the very positive feedback from staff and parents. Special thanks to Mr Des Hardiman (Business Manager), Mr Jim Pearson (Property Manager) and his amazing team for their hard work to ensure the playground was ready for the start of this term.
We all enjoyed the fantastic Year 4 Assembly today. The children shared their wonderful learning that has taken place in their classrooms. Congratulations Mr Edwards and Year 4!
The Pre Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 children are looking forward to their Sports Carnival next Friday 26th October. We hope many parents and friends can come along and cheer on our Junior Athletes.
Enjoy the weekend!
Kind Regards
Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
