Around the Primary
Dear Parents
Today's Community Mass and Funeral Mass for Tommy Fethers were beautiful and emotional farewells to a very special little boy. Tommy was well loved and respected by his friends, teachers and education assistants. He was happy, joyful and we will always remember his lovely smile and gentle presence. Our College community has been truly blessed to have known Tommy for he has touched all our lives in a very special way. We know a precious little soul has joined the angels in heaven and God is holding him in the palm of his hand. Let us keep Lidia, Eric, Abbey in Year 4 and Daisy in PrePrimary in our prayers and thoughts as they grieve for the loss of their beautiful son and brother.
Kind regards
Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
It is about this time of year when some parents start to wonder about who will be teaching their children next year. I would like to take this opportunity to remind parents that all teachers at John XXIII College are professional and of an excellent standard. Children will receive a high quality of education no matter which class they are placed in for the new school year. We spend a lot of time and give great consideration to the placement of children. Consideration for placement is made using the following criteria:
- academic ability
- friendships
- gender balance
- behaviour
- special needs
Every effort is made to place children where it is felt they will have the greatest opportunity to succeed. I ask you to trust that the class your child is going to next year is one in which they will thrive. Parents are welcome to contact me about their child's placement however; specific requests will not be guaranteed. Parents can feel confident that their children will always be in good hands and receive an excellent education.
