Italian Exchange News
Our Italian Exchange group from Vasto has had a busy week at John XXIII College. During the week, they enjoyed a variety of cultural Australian classes. Some of these involved visiting the Primary School classes, making pies and lamingtons, creating and painting boomerangs and immersion classes with their host brothers and sisters. Surfing and playing Aussie Rules Footy were also highlights of the week.
The John XXIII students have taken advantage of practising their Italian communication skills. Some of the hosting students will have the opportunity to go on the Italian Study Tour in January 2017 where they will spend ten days at our Sister School; Liceo Scientifico R. Mattioli, in Vasto, Italy and experience life as an Italian teenager.
Thank you to all the staff for providing engaging lessons and to the host families for welcoming the Italian exchange students and sharing your homes with them. In particular, I would like to thank Ms Melissa Polizzi for co-ordinating the exchange and to Ms Carmelina Grassi for her assistance and support.
We will farewell the Italian Exchange group on Friday night before their departure back to Italy on Saturday. Buon viaggio e arrivederci.
Grazie mille
