Around the Primary
It was another busy week in the primary this week. On Monday we were visited by an author in residence James Foley who is a children's book illustrator. He inspired many children with his interesting drawings of characters from his book "The Last Viking" and with his new book yet to be released.
The Year 6 children headed off to Canberra early Tuesday morning chaperoned by Mr Casey, Miss De Pinto, Miss Coniglio, Mrs Fry, Mr Moylan, Mr Edwards, Mrs Scott and Mrs Joyce. Judging by the descriptive, entertaining newsletters, everyone seems to be having a wonderful time but will undoubtedly return home exhausted.
Children in Years 3 and 5 sat the NAPLAN test which they managed with great confidence and maturity. After a few anxieties on the Tuesday, all children coped very well and certainly tried their best.
The Year 1's were intrigued and fascinated by a visit from Mr Spineless Wonder. This was an incursion on the study of insects presented by an entomologist who brought in an array of very large and different insects which the children were able to get up close and personal.
