Rowing News
Over the weekend John XXIII Rowing Club participated in the 2013 School Girls Head of the River hosted by Penrhos College. Despite the wet conditions our rowing club performed wonderfully. The competition was fierce among all races, but a huge congratulations goes out to our Year 9 girl scullers, Sophie Minissale who won the Year 9 Single Scull A convincingly, and Claire Knight who raced hard to take out the Year 9 Scull B. It was so great to see such a great turn out of parents and supporters, and most of all rowers! A special thanks goes to Emersyn Haddleton for representing the Year Eights and coxing for the day. Thanks to all girls for a fantastic season of Schoolgirls Rowing, hope to see you all do it all again next year! But the season continues for the club, with the All School Head of the River this Saturday! It would be great to see the JTC Rowing community at Champion Lakes in numbers! Good luck to all rowers, this regatta will be our last before State Sprints on the 7 September and State Champs on the 14 & 15 September.
