Around the Primary

Dear Parents

On Monday the school community commemorated 'Remembrance Day', with a Junior and Senior prayer service. The children were reminded of the many men and women who gave their lives in the two World Wars and the subsequent wars that have followed. Thank you to Mrs Gardner and Ms Lumley for organising these ceremonies.

Congratulations to all the students who received merit awards at today's assembly. A big thank you to Mrs Gardner, Ms Allen and Year 3G for their very entertaining assembly item. The children were extremely enthusiastic about sharing their learning about the past. Most importantly the Year 3's reminded us that the

'The past is a priceless lesson.
The present is a precious gift.
The future is an amazing mystery'.

On Monday evening our Primary Dancers performed at the ACHPER Primary Dance Festival, at St Mary's. They certainly danced like stars and looked absolutely amazing in their costumes on the stage. Once again, we thank Ms Bott (dance teacher) for sharing her creative talents with our students.

Thank you to the parents who were able to attend the assembly and dance festival. Also, a big thank you to the many wonderful parents who have been very busy covering our new reading resources either at home or at school. You have done a fabulous job!

Please make certain that you have the 5th December marked in your calendars for our Primary 'Dance Off'. The children are working really hard during their dance lessons with Mr and Mrs Alderman to ensure that their routines will be right on the day. The dance demonstrations will begin at 2pm in the St Louis Centre (gym) and all children from Years 3 - 6 will be participating. Come along and show the children some of your dance moves!

It was wonderful to see many Year 4 parents at this week's information session on iPads and ICT in Education. I would encourage all parents to visit the College website under the tab Parent information> iPad program. Here you can find essential information about setting boundaries at home, frequently asked questions and advice on managing social media tools.

Just a reminder, our Presentation Night will take place in the St Louis Centre on Monday 2nd December at 7pm. As this is an important community event for our College all students from Years 4, 5 and 6 are expected to attend. Our Year 5 students will be presenting the Christmas story for us all to enjoy. Please save the date - more information will follow.

On Friday 29th November, Year 4G are planning a Mass of thanksgiving to celebrate and pray for all the students that have received the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation this year. Everyone is welcome!

Kind regards
