The first week has been busy for Magis with lots of meetings to start programs and introduce new students.

Mock Trials

The first round of Mock Trails starts 4 March. Teams will be registered by 15 February and we begin our morning briefings in week 4. Notices will be in Daily Messages on Simon.

Philosophy Club

Philosophy Club met last Friday in Xavier 10, the Faith and Justice Room. All students are welcome. We meet every Friday at lunchtime.

Media Club

Media Club met last Wednesday and again this week to plan. The decision has been made to meet after school on Fridays in GBLT to film. Media students have changed the format of JTV. I look forward to a creative and exciting year with these students. All students from Years 7 to 12 are welcome and primary students who would like to join need to speak with Miss De Pinto.

On Monday 18 February Media Club students will be documenting the College Swimming Carnival. Any Media Club photographs taken can be entered into a Carnival Journalism Competition. Students can enter up to five printed photographs each. On Tuesday morning students can download their images onto their own USB in the Library and collect an entry form from Catherine Woods. All entries need to be printed on A4 paper for exhibition in the Library.

Magis Maths Club

After discussion with Mrs Judith Peters from the Maths Department we have decided to initiate a Magis Maths Club for gifted maths students Years 7 to 9. More details will be available soon. I am very excited about this opportunity to extend Magis.
