Ignatian Induction Program for Parents

The Ignatian Induction Program for Parents starts on Wednesday 19 February at 9am-10.30am (in MacKillop Room). A morning tea for those who wish to attend will then be provided. Please note that this Program has been conducted over the last four years to most of John XXIII Staff (with high approval evaluations) and two years ago was opened up to Parents. The Program consists of 6 independent content Modules with a Certificate of attendance issued to those who have completed all 6 Modules. The Staff did their Modules in groups of 20-30 over 2 full days. Parents of course needed a more flexible arrangement. Wednesdays with time slot given above, of weeks 3, 5 and 7 in Term 1 and Wednesday weeks 3, 5 and 7 in Term 2. Because the Modules are independent you are able to do a Module even though missing previous Modules. Those who miss some Modules this Year can catch up next year. The idea of the Modules is to provide Staff and Parents with the basic essence of the ethos of John XXIII. The College is already a great School and with this common base it can become even greater. So our wonderful Parent Leaders (who attended the Program last year) and yours truly the Presenter EXHORT YOU to come on board Wednesday 19 February in MacKillop Room. (Please note that the normal venue is Gonzaga Barry Lecture Theatre but this had to be changed for this Module due to a clash with another School activity.) See you there. This Talk brings the fruits of 21 years of Inigo Speakers and my "too many to count' years as an Educator, Parent and Grandparent to the 'coal face' of your home.

The talk includes: -

  • Providing a platform for a more loving and 'happy' home.
  • Dealing with anger and hurt.
  • Sibling rivalry - some insights on managing.
  • Care frontation and boundaries.
  • Communication improvement.
  • Discipline that 'Works'.

Murray Graham (M.Ed) is Director of the Inigo Centre, John XXIII College, whose objective is to enrich Adults in Spirituality and Relationships. Murray has given the 9 hour, 6 module, 'Ignatian Induction' programme to groups of staff during the last 4 years and a 'first' Murray also gives talks to teachers in other schools and to parishes in the city and country.
