Dear Parents,

Today the Junior Primary classes gathered together at Mass to celebrate and thank God for the wonderful gift of friendship. During this celebration Fr Wilson reminded the young children that friends are God's gifts to us and it is important to care for our friends at home, school, in the community and in our parishes A sincere thank you to Mrs Crowley, Mrs Allen, Ms Allen and, of course, 2B for preparing this lovely liturgy.

After much deliberation, we decided to postpone today's Inter-house Athletics Carnival. We hope for better weather conditions on Tuesday 17th September and look forward to seeing many positive and encouraging parents joining us at the oval to cheer on the children.

Athletic ability and participation in sporting events is an integral part of our school curriculum. It is always great to see students experience success in athletics but it is also important staff and parents encourage the children to : -

  • do their very best
  • deal with nerves (not give in to them)
  • cheer for their team mates
  • remain positive even if they are disappointed in a result.
  • celebrate their own achievements and those of their peers.

Next Monday 16th September our classrooms will be open from 5.00 - 7.00 pm and parents are welcome to come and have a look at some of the hard work that has been going on in the Primary School. This is an ideal opportunity for parents to celebrate your child's learning journey with them. Please come along ready to affirm your child for their efforts, for improvements you have noticed, for samples of work that have been well presented and to ask the children questions about their learning. Our Primary Singers and instrumentalists will also be providing some lovely entertainment on the night.
