Around the Primary

Dear Parents

Our Mass for our Graduating Year 6 students was beautiful on Tuesday evening. Thank you to Ms Allen, Mrs Goss, Mr Izzard and Mrs Allen for organising this lovely liturgy and to Fr Wilson for celebrating Mass with us.

This was followed by a supper whereby the Year 6 parents decorated the Exhibition Centre and provided the magnificent catering. A big thank you to Wendy Paull, Sarah Pietrzak, Sue Matera, Sam Margaria, Rebecca Brown, Annie Woodland and Marie O'Rourke for all their efforts behind the scenes.

The Year 5 parents also worked very hard on the night to help make this such a special night for our graduating students and their families. Thank you to Anna Newton, Lidia Fethers, Paula Maggi, Donna Fuller, Lina Macdougall, Natalie Green, Bec Purdy, Sarah Rohr, Annie Chapman, Deborah Cannon, Jo Barbour and Neysa Gellard.

There was a fantastic atmosphere, including meaningful speeches and a fantastic DVD depicting the Year 6 students' journey through their Primary years. Our special thanks to Mrs O'Rourke for organising the DVD.

Our Year 6's have been a wonderful group of leaders and we wish them well for their transition to secondary school. We encourage them to always be leaders at high school and in the community.

It is hard to believe that this is our last newsletter of the year and today all our students attended a Thanksgiving Mass to thank God for the wonderful year we have had at school. We also said goodbye to the staff that are leaving, namely Miss Jemma Davis, Miss Stephanie Figueira, Mrs Josephine Allen and Mr Dominic Izzard. We wish them well and thank them for their contribution to the Primary School. It is also time to say good-bye to Mrs Gardner as she embarks on a whole year's leave.

I also wish to take this opportunity to thank all the Primary Staff who worked so hard and provide such wonderful opportunities for learning and growing for our students. We have had a most productive year and can now look forward to a rewarding 2015.

It is also time to say thank you to all the children who have worked so hard and make our Primary school a fantastic learning community. Also, a sincere thank you to all parents for all the fantastic ways you have contributed to school life this year.

The school year has ended with great seasonal spirit and good will; the children dressing in Christmas colours certainly added to the festive feel! Our final week at school week has been filled with various celebrations and many fun excursions and activities.

I hope you will enjoy looking through the College Magazine that was distributed today; it provides a great visual record of all the ways we have achieved 'Excellence in Co-education' in the Year of Competence.

I wish everyone a very happy and holy Christmas.
