Around the Primary

Mother's Day is one of the most looked forward to celebrations on the Primary School calendar. The day consisted of a beautiful liturgy, followed by class visits and morning tea. It was great to see so many mothers and special visitors at the College this morning enjoying the company of their delightful children. Special thanks to Ms O'Connor and 2B for preparing the lovely liturgy. A big thank you to all the staff for their hard work behind the scenes.

Thank You, Holy Father,
for Your special gift of mothers;
for the example of Your unconditional love they share with their children.
Thank You for the mother who lets her child know without doubt he or she is loved,
and for the child who returns that love.
Lord, we pray You will protect and guide mothers everywhere;
that You will grant them Your wisdom in loving and teaching their children. Amen.

The National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) takes place across Australia next week with students from Years 3 and 5 completing tests in Numeracy, Reading, Writing and Language Conventions. It is important to remember that these tests only provide a snapshot of a student's performance on one day in one test.

Next Monday, 14th May the College community will be photographed for the Whole School Photo. All students from Years 1 - 6 need to wear their school uniform. Pre-Primary children need to wear their sports uniform and Kindy children need to wear neat, casual clothes. (Unfortunately the Kindy t-shirts will not arrive by Monday morning). Please ensure children have correct footware and hair accessories.

Next Tuesday our Year 6 students and 8 staff members, including Mrs Fry, Miss Coniglio, Mr Casey, Mr Moylan, Mr Edwards, Mrs Scott, Mrs Joyce and myself begin our journey to Canberra. I'm sure the students will have many exciting stories to share on our return.

Wishing all Mothers a Happy Mother's Day filled with joy, laughter, love and God's blessings.

Kind regards

Antoinette De Pinto
Head of Primary
