Year 7 Travelsmart to school day 2016
We wish Mrs Sue Benson all the best for her coming retirement. Mrs Benson has been a stalwart supporter of sustainability across the school community. She has been an active member of the Sustainability committee and has advanced the integration of sustainability into the Year 7 curriculum. Her support will be sorely missed by all. Below is a picture of Mrs Benson with some of her students who took part in the Travelsmart to school day on Thursday 7 April 2016.
Sustainability club lunch
Last week the students form the sustainability club enjoyed the fruits of their labour when they harvested lunch from the garden. Students picked and prepared a range of leafy greens, herbs and collected eggs from the chickens to create a delicious frittata. We broke bread and enjoyed sharing a meal together.
Green Tip: Looking for some school holiday ideas for primary aged children? Research shows unstructured play outdoors and in nature promotes a healthy lifestyle, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills, as well as building resilience and creativity. Best of all it gets kids outside and away from screens. How many of your happy times remembered from childhood are memories of time spent outdoors? Take the Nature Play WA challenge and see how many of the "51 Things to Do Before You're 12" your kids have done.
