Dear Parents

Holy Week

This week denotes one of the most important times on our liturgical calendar. It is the time when we remember Jesus' journey to the cross, his death and resurrection. At the start of the week Year 6B lead us through a Palm Sunday reflection to celebrate Jesus' triumphant journey into Jerusalem. Yesterday Year 6G re-enacted the Last Supper with great reverence. Today our Year 5's led the Primary community through the Stations of the Cross. The quality of these Easter Reflections has been exceptional and very moving. We thank the Year 5 and 6 students, the classroom teachers and also Ms Allen and Mrs Ferguson-Allen for bringing the Gospel to life through dramatization, song and prayer.

Parent Teacher Interviews

As part of the Assessment and Reporting process at John XXIII College, Parent-Teacher Interviews will be taking place in Week 9 of this term. This is a valuable time for you to spend with your son/daughter's teacher discussing your child's academic and social progress.

This year your child is not required to come along to the interview. It will be a two way process between teacher and parent/s. We encourage all parents to discuss their child's future goals with them at home after the interview.

All parents are required to book their parent teacher meeting online. (PTO) bookings can be made online from Thursday morning. The link can be found on the College Web Page under 'Quick links' and then 'Events-Online bookings'. Alternatively you can click on the link below and it will take you straight to the log in screen.

Once you get to the log in screen you need to click on 'Obtain Pin or Password'. Your password will then be sent to your email. If you have trouble with logging on, or lose your password please contact John Joosten (Director of ICT) at

Once you have logged in, you can select a time that suits you to meet with your child's classroom teacher in the final week of this term.

Primary House Day

Next Friday 1st April we will be celebrating Primary House Day. This involves the students participating in activities to learn about the founders of John XXIII and to commemorate the House to which they will belong throughout their time at the College.

The format of Primary House Day includes:

All parents are welcome to join us in the Chapel.

The children are welcome to bring along a gold coin/s (prices range from 50c to $2.00) to buy a special treat for morning tea.

On this day our normal nutrition guidelines are relaxed but parents may like to provide instructions on the day for their children regarding their purchases. If you prefer you are welcome to send along a snack for your child to enjoy at recess.
