I have been privileged enough to be accepted to run with the Australian Cancer Research Foundation in the 2015 London Marathon.

Over the past year I have been training towards my goal of finishing a 42k (26 mile) run and have found it to be an eye opening experience. After moving to England 3 months ago, I continued my training even though the climate is a little colder than Australia and there is definitely a lot more rain!! This has required me to push myself through limits that I did not think were possible, this has included a lot of bone chilling late night runs along Brighton Beach, however my personal drive has allowed me to thrive on these new challenges.

My motivation throughout my training has purely come from being able to run a marathon for a cause that has personally impacted my family and my life.I am running in honour of my Uncle, Dennis Haley who we lost in 2011 from cancer. Though it was a long painful experience for us all, Dennis with his selfless, caring and positive attitude gave support to our family to give us strength through his suffering. To have someone this close to me put his own difficulties aside to help the people around him has been and continues to be a major inspiration to me. For this reason, I would like to raise money for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation to help build a better medical understanding so that one day we won't lose so many loved people around us and can say the C word without being distraught by the possible excruciating outcomes that we are faced with today. The ACRF is a charity that is dedicated to finding the cures for cancer by funding world-class cancer research in Australia. The ACRF focuses on effective treatments and diagnostic measures as well as prevention for all types of cancer. I have committed to raising $10,000 for this charity and would like to invite you to help me support this foundation. With every dollar raised, my endless gratitude will go out to you as your support is the key to building a better future for the ACRF.

All donations receive a tax receipt and you can find out more about the charity at

Thank you again for supporting in my goal of raising money for the ACRF, it means a lot that I have the suppport of John XXIII.
