Around the Primary

Dear Parents

It has been very busy around the College this week and there is still much to happen next week!

To begin with, I wish to thank all our Year 5 students for their beautiful singing at Presentation Night and at today's Assembly. Your singing was so reverent and joyful and helped to remind us all about the true meaning of Christmas. My appreciation is extended to Mrs Morell and Mrs Allen for sharing their musical expertise with our community.

I also wish to congratulate our Primary Award Winners for 2014. We are so proud of your magnificent achievements and efforts.

At today's assembly we were thoroughly entertained by our PrePrimary students. They all looked amazing in their costumes and performed so well on the big stage. Well done to Miss Monastra, Miss Di Biaggio, Ms McKeague and Mrs Exten for their preparation and organisation behind the scenes.

Congratulations to all the students that received a certificate.

Next Tuesday evening we celebrate the Graduation of our Year 6 Primary students. This fantastic group of students have been wonderful leaders and we wish them well for their transition into Secondary School.

Goodbye Year 6's! May God be with each of you on your life journey.

It has been great to see so many parents at our Pre-Kindy, Kindy and PrePrimary Christmas celebrations. We are so lucky to have such delightful and talented students at John XXIII.

On Monday morning the children participated in a transition session to familiarize themselves with their new teacher/s, education assistants and class members before the holidays. The staff and students enjoyed the 'meet and greet' time and it was particularly great to see our PrePrimary children so excited about joining the big school!

Reports will be posted home at the end of next week. I trust you will enjoy reading your child's report and celebrating with them their efforts and learning journey for the school year.

All parents are invited to join us for our final College Mass next Friday 12th December. Our whole school community will come together at 9 am in the St Louis Sports Centre for this end of year liturgical celebration.

Finally, on Thursday 11th December, the children are welcome to wear casual clothes to school. Children are encouraged to wear a Christmas t-shirt, hat or they can even come dressed as an angel, elf or even Santa on the day. It is hoped each family will place a donation in the Christmas Hampers for St Vinnies either on the day or during the week. Please give generously so others may have a happy Christmas with some delicious treats.
