Around the Primary
Dear Parents
Primary House Day is always a special day at John XXIII College and today the primary school community celebrated Primary House Day in fine style. We began our celebrations with a lovely Mass. At this time, we all reflected and learnt about the names behind the Houses, namely Campion, Koolyangarra, Loreto, Loyola, St Louis and Ward, which are such an important part of our College heritage.
After recess each House gathered together to begin their activities for the day. These were all fun activities and gave the children many opportunities to get to know each other better in their House groups. At lunch time each House shared a sausage sizzle lunch together. These were cooked by our wonderful parents. At the end of the day each House shared an ice-cream treat, before going home to relax after an extremely busy and fun day.
There was a wonderful fun-filled atmosphere at today's House Day Celebrations. Special thanks to Ms Allen for preparing the lovely liturgy, to all our hardworking staff for planning the fantastic activities and games and, of course, thanks to Mr Burke and all the parent volunteers for their assistance. We had a great day!
Congratulations to our Year Six students for organising the Monster Cake Stall. A total of $1043.10 was raised for Project Compassion. Special thanks to the College community for supporting this fundraising event for such a worthy cause. I also take this opportunity to thank Miss Nish, Mrs Connell and Mrs Purcell and all the Year 6 parents for their hard work behind the scenes.
Kind regards
