Around the Primary

Dear Parents,

We are now in the first week of Lent. On Wednesday the Year 3-6 students gathered together to celebrate Mass for Ash Wednesday and our Junior classes participated in prayerful classroom liturgies. Our visiting priest, Fr Greg Donovan reminded us all that Lent is a time of getting ready for the celebration of Easter and one of the most important times on our liturgical calendar. Please take some time over the next forty days of Lent to pray as a family or maybe join us at Mass on Friday mornings. Special thanks to Ms Allen, Miss Joyce and Year 3G for preparing our lovely Ash Wednesday Mass.

The students from Years 3-6 thoroughly enjoyed the Twilight Swimming Carnival yesterday and it was great to see so many parents and friends supporting this event!

Congratulations to Koolyangarra, our Champion House for 2017. Well done to all the competitors - you certainly made us proud!

Our appreciation is extended to Mr Alderman for organizing our swimming carnival and to all the hard working staff and parent helpers. Special thanks to Mr Glen Mitchell for always being so willing to share his amazing commentary skills with us.

We can now look forward to the Interschool Swimming Carnival on 14 March at Newman College.

We should be extremely proud of how hard our swimmers tried on the night. The smiles on their faces after completing a race was definitely the highlight of the Carnival. A big thank you to Loreto for their amazing cheering too!

Well done to all the Houses!

After five very busy learning and teaching weeks back here at school, the long weekend has certainly come at the perfect time. Please use this wonderful opportunity with your children to slow down a little, enjoy the company of family and friends and recharge the batteries for the remainder of the busy term.

Kind regards
