Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA)

Students who want to apply to ADFA for entry in 2013 should start the process NOW if they have not already done so. It takes a long time to get through the various selection processes and be ready for the Officer Selection Board in September. The ADFA Education Award
(applications open 1 May 2012)
Year 11 students only

The ADFA Education Award is presented annually to Year 12 students in recognition of leadership potential, and academic and sporting achievements exhibited during Year 11. The award comprises of a laptop computer and certificate, along with a plaque of recognition for our school.

There are up to 100 awards available on behalf of the Navy, Army and Air Force which will be presented to suitable applicants who have applied for entry to ADFA. The student must submit an application prior to 28 February 2013. The student is encouraged to apply in Year 11.

Award eligibility

To be eligible to apply for the Education Award, the student must currently be studying Year 11 subjects that meet both the educational qualifications for admission to the University of New South Wales (UNSW).

The application process comprises the ADFA entry aptitude test, medical testing and a series of interviews including an Officer Selection Board (OSB). Receipt of the ADFA Education Award does not guarantee you entry into ADFA, as you will still be in national competition against other candidates for entry.

Obligation of the recipient

The ADFA Education Award is unbonded, which means there is no obligation to accept an offer to attend ADFA, nor is the Australian Defence Force obliged to offer appointment to an award winner.

If a year 11 student is interested in this award, they must go to the following website
