Year 11 and 12 Integrated Science students were fortunate to visit the CSIRO laboratory within Scitech on Monday March 31. The students undertook two programs during their visit that pertained to their Stage 1 Integrated Science WACE course:

The first was to investigate cells and organisms. During this program, the students further developed the theme of Biodiversity in our Stage 1A unit, whereby students examined cells and their specialized functions, adaptations, biochemical functioning, reproduction, life cycles, classifications, and environmental factors.

The second program developed the students Science Enquiry skills where they investigated evidence collected from the scene of a crime. They then made observations, analysed results and developed explanations as to who committed the crime.

At the conclusion of the program, students were able to spend some time interacting with the exhibits at Scitech.
