Year 12 Perspectives Exhibition

Each year the Art Gallery of WA hosts the Year 12 Perspectives Exhibition which showcases works from year 12 Visual Art students from throughout the state. In 2011 460 year 12 artworks were submitted to a selection panel and from these 50 artworks were chosen for the 2011 Year 12 Perspectives Exhibition. We were extremely excited to have two students from John XXIII College selected for this exhibition, Jack Kennare (model Rachel Etty) and Caitlin McCarthy.

The official opening was launched on 23 February with a cocktail evening attended by students who were selected for the exhibition along with their parents and teachers. Dr Liz Constable officially opened the exhibition and along with the Director of the Art Gallery, Stefano Carboni , praised the extremely high level of artwork by all the students. The exhibition runs from 11 February until 9 April and can also be viewed on the Art Gallery of WA website as they are no longer printing catalogues for this event. There is also the opportunity for members of the public to vote for their favourite artwork either at the exhibition or on line at the following link. I thoroughly recommend taking the opportunity to view this event as it is the highlight of the year 12 Visual Art students' year and one of the most popular exhibitions at the art gallery annually.
