On Saturday the 5th of July, John XXIII College participated in the RWA pennant regatta - all schools. It was a successful day for the College as many competitors achieved outstanding results. The weather was sunny with little wind which made the perfect conditions for a regatta. David Wishaw and Evan McAuliffe came first in their double as well as Lauren Harding and Nuala Boog who also received first place in their double. A Quad with David Wishaw as stroke, Callan Reynolds, Jackson Collins and Liam Gassner also came first in their event. Many other rowers participated with great enthusiasm and encouraging team spirit which helped make a great regatta.

Last weekend the John XXIII Rowing Club participated the last All Schools regatta of 2014. Despite the conditions being cold, wet, windy and miserable for the most part, our rowers managed to perform well in the conditions and power home to secure places in their events. Our senior girls were unlucky to have issues with the boat during the Women's School Open Double Scull, the Club's first event for the day, but managed to keep their spirits high and come in third in the Combined Schools Open Coxed Quad.

The Club proved victorious, coming in first in the following events: Men's Schools Under 16 Double Scull, Women's School Under 16 Single Scull, Men's Schools Under 15 Quad Scull and the Combined School Under16 Coxed Eight. With the following rowers taking home medals; David Wishaw, Evan McAuliffe, Laura Boere, Jackson Collins, Winston Jenkins, Solomon Slattery, Joaquin Picart, Lauren Harding, Emersyn Haddleton, Mia Low, Callan Reynolds, Gabrielle Paul, Laura Boere, Will Jupp and Nuala Boog.
