Around the Primary

Our Year 3 - 6 House Cross Country carnival was a huge success on Thursday afternoon. Congratulations to all our winners for 2014 - a fabulous effort! Congratulations also to all the students who gave it their very best and finished off their race. It was very pleasing to see so many students taking up the challenge of running in the long course. Our Interschool Team has now been selected and they will continue training in preparation for the IPSHA Cross Country Carnival on Thursday 14th August. This carnival will also be hosted at the College. More details can be found in the Sports Report.

A big thank you to Mrs Menzies for organising cross-country training (and athletics training) this term. This has been greatly appreciated and well-received by the students. We also congratulate Mrs Menzies for her wonderful preparation of the Carnival - the carnival ran very smoothly and a great time was had by all!

Safety is one of the most common concerns parents have when dealing with technology and their children's interaction with it. There is a new system call curbi which allows parents to set various restrictions on their children's iPhones and I Pads. These restrictions apply at home or anywhere a device is connected to WiFi or 3G. It was developed in consultation with the ICT staff here at John XXIII College so that it does not interfere with our Meraki MDM to find out more information, please click here.

Year 3B are currently busy preparing for our first Primary Mass next week. This will coincide with the Feast of St Mary of the Cross (Mary MacKillop). Everyone is welcome to join us in the chapel at 9am on Friday 8th August.

Kind regards
