Girls Rowing Regatta Saturday 26th May at Canning Bridge

It was a picture perfect day for the girls first regatta of the season. The rowing club hosted the regatta and we all had a very successful day. Seven single sculls competed and all the girls performed magnificently.

Arabelle O'Rourke was in top form to take first place in her Year 9B single scull event. 'Oarsome' rowing Arabelle!

This is the first regatta where we entered rowers in a "Freshman" event which is an event giving all new rowers a chance to compete. Caity Drage competed in a single scull race and proudly finished second.

Ciara Nalty competed in the Year 9A single scull event to row to second place.

Eleanor Weber strived for third place in the Year 10A 1000m single scull event. Kate Fletcher rowed very strongly to take third place in the Year 10B 1000m single scull event.

Leesha Green and Carla Hyde set their personal best times for a distance of 1500m in a single scull event.

The year 10 quad crew also set their personal best time for their 1500m event.

Our next regatta is on Saturday, 16 June, the girls will again compete at Canning Bridge in their second Regatta. The rowing crews have been preparing for this season's Regattas for many months already and are ready for an exciting racing season.

Please feel welcome to come down and support the girls and see them in action! Racing is generally between 8.30-11.30am. It's usually a lovely morning down by the Swan River and delicious morning teas are provided by the host School on the day.
