Sayoonara to the Fujimi Exchange Group
It is time to say farewell to our Fujimi Exchange Group for 2014. The Fujimi staff and students will be holding a Thank You and Farewell Party for their wonderful host families on Saturday 9th August. The performance will start in the Gonzaga Barry Lecture Theatre at 10:30 am and then move to the Exhibition Centre for morning tea. The bus departs at 11:45 am.
Members of the Fujimi Exchange have had another week full of activities, excursions and classes with the John XXIII College Community. Highlights during the day include Ms Helen Aghdasi's Year Five Japanese class, Mr Deurloo's Boomerang Throwing class, Ms Kiri Moore's Aboriginal Art class and English classes. On Wednesday, we had absolutely perfect weather for our visit to Caversham Wildlife Park, followed by min-golf with the Year Ten Japanese class. A big thanks to Ms Glen James for her support, meticulous planning and organization.
The biggest thanks goes to our host families. The exchange students have loved sharing life in an Aussie home and the wonderful hospitality and generosity shown to them. Sharing the chores, taking the dog for a walk, watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean and our beautiful stars are memories that will last forever. So a "Big Arigato gozaimashita" to each member of your family.
Many thanks to the Fujimi students for their lovely song and spectacular dance performance at their final assembly on Thursday. Also, a big, big thank you and well done to our brilliant Year One class for entertaining all of us with their song "Give me a Home Amongst the Gum Trees" and the "The Tulip Song". Thanks to Ms Jemma Davis and Ms Jodi Joyce.
