ACC Swimming - Wednesday 23 March HBF Stadiumimg_0742-copy.jpg

Congratulations to all students who attended the ACC 'A' Division swimming carnival. The team performed brilliantly on the day and finished 2nd overall, an achievement students should be proud of given that we were in 'B' Division in 2014. Our swimmers showed a will to win and fought hard in every race, showing good team spirit and support for each other throughout the day. A big thanks to Mrs Murphy and our Year 12 swimmers who attended the carnival despite it being in the middle of their Manresa (retreat). Results for the day can be viewed via the ACC website.

It is always hard to single out individual performance but it would be remiss not to highlight some outstanding individual performances on the day:
• Brendan Best 1st Overall Male U13
• Grace Barbour 2nd Overall Female U13
• Aleksandr Bell 1st Overall Male U15
• Ella Matthews 3rd Overall Female U15
• Drew Lilleyman 2nd Overall Male U16
• Sian Munks 3rd Overall Female U17
• Beatrice Tay 1st Overall Female Open
• Brendan Best also set a new ACC record for the 100m freestyle with a time of 1.03.23. Congratulations, Brendan.

A huge thanks to the staff involved with swimming training in 2016, Daniel Platts and Sarah den Haan. Danny and Sarah did not miss a session all term and their commitment to early morning trainings is appreciated. They were also assisted by some outstanding ex-student coaches, Kate Olver, Eleanor Ferguson and Mark Ferguson. Numbers at training were well up on 2015 and it proved critical in our final carnival result. Congratulations and thanks to all staff and students involved with the team in 2016 for their performance.
