Society and Environment Teacher with a History Major

Temporary Position - 0.8FTE - Term 3

Selection Criteria :

ESSENTIAL :

The applicant must have:

  • A degree in the relevant subject area and educational qualifications
  • A commitment to life-long learning and a passion for teaching
  • An enjoyment of working with young people;
  • A proven understanding of recent teaching methodology including differentiation of the curriculum;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • A willingness to be a member of a team and work collegially with other staff members;
  • A strong desire to be involved in the education of the whole child, socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Willing support for the Catholic ethos of the School.

The position requires the staff member to:

  • Comply with all Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia Policy Statements
  • Comply with all College Policy statements
  • Undertake either the Accreditation to Teach or Accreditation to Teach Religious Education
  • Hold a current registration number with the Teachers Registration Board of WA (TRBWA)
  • Hold and maintain a valid Working With Children card

DESIRABLE:

  • A Masters degree in a specialised area of education or other post graduate qualifications;
  • A commitment to the Catholic faith;
  • A sense of innovation and creativity.
